Corporate HQ in Quartzite & Marble

At the century-old DuPont Building that houses Chemours in Wilmington DE, the design provided new marble, quartzite and granite for the lobbies and halls on each of the thirteen floors, matching the original marble material for a perfect blend of old and new.

For this project, Jane & Seay traveled to Italy to meet with the expert fabrication team and invited executives from Chemours, as well as members of the design and installation teams at Joseph Rizzo & Sons in New Castle, Delaware. This type of field trip eliminates confusion, creates a solidarity around scope and vision, and streamlines the process. Erik Krupp of InTech Construction and Ashley Phillips of L2 Partridge Architects, both of Philadelphia were dynamic partners in seeing this project to fruition.

“ The Chemours project in Wilmington, DE required a fast-paced timeline, so we were grateful for the collaboration. While we were not in the same location, Jane Kennelly and her team managed everything from shop drawings, supplying new stone, working with us to fabricate existing materials, and coordinating with existing conditions - all in one space. From Seay at the drafting table to Jane managing procurement and progress, they met all of our expectations. One key attribute this team offers is working through all of a project's challenges as they arise until a resolution is met. This is a lost art in today's business world. On every aspect of this project, they showed us that they are one of the best stone companies around. On behalf of the Joseph Rizzo & Sons Company, I would like to extend my appreciation for their ability to work so closely on a renovation project of this magnitude and see it through to success."
